Wolf Family Farm: After The Fire
Saturday, July 27, 2013
On July 25, we took a break.
Our IBARJ Summer Retreat had been scheduled back when we thought we would have been moved in by now. So we cleaned up the place. Some of our furniture had been delivered but it was kept on the front porch (sunroom) since we really weren't finished with the woodwork and the carpeting wasn't down yet. So, we just used folding chairs, and lawn chairs because the 40 of us spent most of the day outside. It was a BEAUTIFUL day. But it sure was fun showing off how much of the house we DO have completed.

Upstairs bath - very excited about how Floyd painted the walls to match the shower curtain!

Floyd does this using a feather duster. :-) Looks even better in person.

Geraniums looked great at the well.

Hanging baskets help to take our eyes away from the Yews that will soon be yanked out.
Meanwhile, downstairs the woodwork was beginning.
The woodwork for the first floor came from another house that had been damaged by fire and was going to be torn down. Don and several of our other helpers got it.. stripped it... stained it... and varnished it. What a job that was! But it was worth it, because it was all Quartersawn Oak! Beautiful grain!! Wait till you see THESE pictures!!!

After the upstairs woodwork was done, THEN we could put down carpeting... and add a little furniture.

If it looks a little smaller than it used to... its because of all the coats of paint before we finally got it right! :-)

Beautiful job! Thanks, Doug!!

Not much furniture in our bedroom yet, as we are still living in town and need our bed.

Looking out our door to the linen closet. No carpeting in the hallway yet.
Woodwork - and doors - and more woodwork! Oh my!! Starting in the upstairs...
The Countertop Guys came back with the correct size this time.
